Conservation of historic Arts & Crafts stained glass, plain glazing and metal window frames and furniture, with provision of security bars, as part of The Lakeland Arts Trust's £3million project to restore Blackwell Arts & Crafts House.
Built in 1898 by Baillie Scott for Sir Edward Holt, a wealthy Manchester brewer, Blackwell has survived many years as a girls' school with its original decorative features intact, and is Grade 1 listed as an outstanding example of Arts and Crafts architecture.
It was opened to the public by the then Prince Charles, who had taken a keen interest in the regeneration of the House and surrounding area.
